About
Austen’s Huggable Heroes was inspired by the love and care that a simple stuffed animal can provide during hard times. The heart of this mission lies in Cuddles, a cherished stuffed lion passed down to Austen by her mom. But Cuddles’ story goes back even further—to a moment of heartbreak and resilience.

When Austen’s mom was just 12 years old, she came home to find an eviction notice on the door. Her mother had left, and she suddenly found herself alone, with nowhere to go. She spent months living with a friend before eventually moving in with an aunt. Through all the uncertainty, she held onto Cuddles, one of the only possessions from her childhood and the last gift from her mother. More than just a toy, Cuddles became a source of comfort, security, and hope in a time of instability.

At just 8 years old, Austen’s compassion for children in foster care and shelters sparked a mission to make a difference. She started this organization with the belief that every child deserves a source of comfort—something to hold onto when the world feels uncertain.

Every stuffed animal collected is a hug waiting to happen, a reminder that someone cares. With every donation, we’re not just giving a toy—we’re giving comfort, love, and hope to a child who needs it most.
